Teens treated for mobile phone addiction
July 3rd 2008 00:45
Two kids in Spain were recently taken to a mental health facility to be treated for mobile phone addiction. This of course isn’t the first case of children needing health care for this addiction. But these two kids, ages 12 and 13 were reportedly spending more than 6 hours per day talking, texting, playing games and generally interacting with their peers.
Doctors at the institution to which they were taken suggested that it might take up to a year for the tweens to be weened off the “drug”. They also said that the students were incapable of living a normal life without constantly checking their mobile phones.
Astounding.
