Sleep Deprived teenagers risk their hearts

New research from the University Hospital's Sleep Disorder Clinic in Cleveland has revealed that teenagers who don't get enough sleep could be at risk of developing heart conditions.
The study blames the "technological invasion of the bedroom" for a lack of quality sleep amongst Generation Y and suggests that the high incidences of mobile phone, ipods and computer games need to be kept away from sleeping areas to ensure rest and recooperation.
The study found that teens aged 13 to 16 who slept less than 6½ hours a night were up to three times more likely to have elevated blood pressure. It is reportedly the first study to prove a link between Sleep and Blood Pressure abnormalities in Healthy Children.
